Karl Herrmann

At the age of eight, Karl Herrmann was inspired by the work of American photographers Ansel Adams and Paul Strand. He subsequently started shooting black & white with a Kodak Brownie box camera, and by the age of twelve had his own darkroom. Nature, as a subject was plentiful, convenient and endearing in his home state of Washington. All of his images are hand printed and processed to strict museum archival standards. Karl’s interest and love of still photography soon landed him on the motion picture business. After a number of years he graduated to the position of Director of Photography.
One unique aspect to Karl’s work is the worldwide accessibility to locations Karl has due to his movie work. Images from Korea, Nepal, Bali, North Carolina, and the Grand Canyon are a few examples.
